The word “tithe” in Hebrew means “tenth,” and is the Biblical practice of giving God at least 10% of your income.
We tithe as an expression of our trust in God’s character and provision. Practicing generosity gives us the opportunity to become more like our generous heavenly Father. It helps us to acknowledge that all of our blessings have come from God and in response, displays our gratitude and devotion to Him.

WHY TITHE?
- Because it increases our faith, rewiring our brain to trust God. When we tithe, especially when we “don’t have enough to tithe,” we take a bold step of faith. Each time we take this step of faith we see God provide for us. This process strengthens out faith. It shows us that God is our provider and not us. It forces us to rely on him, and he’s very reliable.
- Because it’s a biblical command.
- Because God promises to bless us when we give.
- Because money meets tangible needs in the community. “If a brother or sister is without adequate clothing and lacks food for each day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace with my blessing, keep warm and feed yourselves,” but he does not give them the necessities for the body, what good does that do? James 2:15-20
- Because money meets tangible needs in the church. It takes finances to do ministry.
- Because "Whoever trusts in his riches will fall.” Proverbs 11:28
- Because other folks need it more. We tithe as a way of loving our neighbors.
- Because we’re called to instead “store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal..” Matthew 6:20 Tithing gives us eternal perspective.
- Because: "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Matthew 6:24

WE’RE ON A JOURNEY TO RAISE $275,000.
With a $450,000 first-year budget, Together Church needs about 55 tithing households to be fully sustainable. We expect around 25 in the first six months, so we’re aiming to raise $275,000 to cover startup costs and the initial gap as we slowly grow. We’ve already raised $63,000
