We long to see Ocean Beach, then San Diego, and ultimately the world transformed by: the gospel, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the faithful witness of modern day disciples.
As we link arms in unity with other churches around our city and around the globe, *together* our audacious prayer is:
That the masses would repent of sin and fall in love with Jesus Christ - resulting in a tidal wave of large scale societal change: mental illnesses healed, loneliness eradicated, families reconciled, justice for the oppressed, political peace, marriages strengthened, economic stability, racial unity, hope restored, generosity normalized, miraculous signs and wonders, joy renewed, and love distributed abundantly. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
Our goal is to help you know Jesus, follow Jesus, and love Jesus and then in turn we want to help you, help others to do the same.
This isn't a secondary thing for the most advanced Christians, discipleship is for every Christ follower and it's the very core of our faith. Following Jesus is a sacrificial commitment that can't be reduced to praying a simple prayer of salvation; Christianity is pledging allegiance to King Jesus and then following after Him for the rest of one's life. Yes, this commitment takes sacrifice, but it's the best decision you'll ever make.
Discipleship is the lifelong process of becoming more like Jesus; we don’t ever “finish” the discipleship process.
That being said, we really just have one core value, and it's discipleship; the other four values are aspects of this primary value.
We're each just one piece of the puzzle, one part of the body of Christ.
When we come together only then can we see the beautiful picture that is the kingdom, only then can we see what we were made for, only then can we grow.
Acts 2:42-47 is our church’s guiding passages (written out below) and it shows us that community involves: 1. commitment (they were together daily) 2. hospitality (in homes) 3. generosity (they sacrificed for each other) and 4. food (which is why we eat together after each service. 5. Then in 1 Corinthians 13 we see that if we do all these things mentioned in Acts without love, it will just be worthless; noisy gongs and clanging cymbals.
Love is at the center of commitment to community.
We are lifelong students of scripture. We stand on the infallible Word of God. We believe it, obey it, & let it form us.
Discipleship can't be divorced from doctrine. A primary branch of discipleship is learning; how can we love who we don't know? We will forever be falling more in love with a God who we will forever be getting to know more. Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.”
This posture of students encourages us towards humility and obedience: "Jesus, whatever you would ask of me I'll do." Or as 1st John says: “to love God is to obey God.”
Scripture is our authority, our anchor, & our guide.
Everything is oriented around intimacy with Jesus. This supernatural relationship is similar to other close relationships in our life: it also takes quality time and intentionality.
We prioritize presence over performance, abiding over striving, & worship as our way of life.
We believe in an alive and active God. He still speaks, the Spirit still transforms, & deep joy is found in communion with Him & with one another.
Intimacy has always been God’s design & we delight in His nearness!
This begins and ends with spending time with Him; developing a rhythm of connection through spiritual disciplines.
Missional Minded means seeing
bringing heaven to earth, justice to the oppressed, preaching the gospel, and bringing revival to San Diego and beyond.
We want to create disciples who GO and create more disciples.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.
All the believers were *together* and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet *together* in the temple courts.
They broke bread in their homes and ate *together* with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Our discipleship process is this: We help guide folks on a journey from fans, to followers, to friends with Jesus so they can go find the far - creating more disciples who in turn create more disciples. This pathway outlines how we plan to do that.
The puzzle piece icon emphasizes how we are each puzzle pieces in the kingdom of God. Individually we make up just a part of the body of Christ, but we come *together* to make a beautiful picture that is the whole - that is the kingdom. A single, isolated puzzle piece in a jigsaw puzzle is useless. However, when brought together with the other 999 pieces, it creates a beautiful work of art, a masterpiece. However, if the 999 pieces are put together, but lack just one piece the puzzle's incomplete, for anyone who's ever done a puzzle, this is an awful feeling.
And so Jesus, similar to his role as the good shepherd, He leaves the 999 to go after the one. There is no better feeling than finally finding the missing piece under the couch (Side note: If you can’t tell, I love puzzles).
Seeing ourselves as puzzle pieces gives us healthy perspective; it both humbles us and empowers us. No piece is the star of the puzzle, but the puzzle isn’t possible without each piece. Each member is vitally important in the kingdom of God and empowered to go do "even greater things" than Jesus, but it humbles each member realizing that we can't do it alone, We need each other.
This analogy expands also showing that our church is just one puzzle piece in God's kingdom - we work alongside all the other churches to represent the global body of Christ.
